How can I lose weight but have an athletic body build?
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010I want to lose weight and be skinnier but I’m scared I’ll end up looking anorexic and have all my bones poking out. How can I lose weight and have a flat stomach, but not look sick?
What should my diet look like and what sorts of exercises should I do?
If you want to lose weight, you need to two things: eat less and exercise more. Weight gain happens when you create a calorie surplus (eat more than you burn). Your body takes the excess calories and converts them to fat which get stored around your stomach, arms and thighs. The longer you remain in a calorie surplus, the more weight you’ll gain. To lose that weight, you need to do the opposite. You need to create a calorie deficit (start eating less than you burn).
Your first step is to figure out how many calories you burn on a daily basis. Use a calorie calculator – http://calorieneedscalculator.com The number you get from this tool is what your body burns on a daily basis. To lose weight, simply eat less. It sounds a lot easier than it is but making small changes helps you adjust to a new lifestyle. Don’t think of this as a diet, think of it as a new life. Instead of eating foods high in sugars, white flour and saturated fat, go with fruits, vegetables, whole wheats, fish, lean meats, nuts and beans. In addition to eating less, you also need to exercise more. Start off at 1-2 times per week and work your way up to 3-5 times per week.
Don’t make all of these changes at once or you won’t be able to properly adjust to them. Generally, eating healthier foods will decrease your calorie intake. Compare a doughnut to an apple and you’ll see that healthy foods are lower in calories. You can find some more information at the Straight Health Forums – http://forums.straighthealth.com

How to get a flat stomach in less than a month?
Saturday, June 19th, 2010I am 13, about 95 pounds, and about 5 feet tall. Is there any way for me to get a flat stomach in less than a month easily? I tried do exercises but I am NOT built for that. I don’t want to spend TOO much money on losing weight… is there anything that can help me get a COMPLETELY flat stomach guaranteed? I need something that someone has already tried out and has gotten great results. Thanks!
* I will try out each of your answers and whichever one works the best, I will choose that as the best answer *
* I need to lose my belly fat – if this helps you with the answer *
* I am not so flexible, advanced yoga isn’t good for me – I can’t even read my toes!!! *
To get a flat stomach, you must lose weight all over because it’s really hard to lose weight in just ONE SECTION of your body. So if you’re really serious about this you can go walking/jogging every day for about an hour, cut back on junk food and it shouldn’t take long if you go jogging/walking every day. Honestly though, you’re 13, you shouldn’t worry about this stuff yet. I did when I was your age, not even obsessively, and now I obsess so much that it interferes with my day to day life. Since you are only 95 pounds your stomach is probably very thin already anyway.

How to get a sexy, flat, toned stomach in one month? (Im a girl)?
Wednesday, June 16th, 2010Right, so Im going on a beach holiday in 1 month exactly, and I really want to look my best in a bikini, so I need to get rid of my stomach flabber and build my abs!!
What to eat?
When and how much to exercise?
What exercises to do?
Im pretty busy so I cant get to the gym or pool, but pretty much any other exercises are great!
Thanks a ton!!!
Oh by the way im 16, 5′8”, and 131 lbs.
jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.
